“Don’t give up when things are hard. The best things in your life took hard work. Being and staying healthy and strong can be hard work, nothing is more important and you’re worth the work!”
When I started practicing yoga after my first baby was born, 25 years ago, I quickly realized that it was more than just a workout. I had a new baby and a challenging job as a high school teacher for kids with special needs. I craved my practice to keep me balanced in my body and to keep me calm and peaceful in my mind and heart. Practicing and teaching yoga has been a blessing in my life that has kept me centered and strong even in tough times. It is my passion to help others dig deep into themselves to find strength and flexibility not just in their physical body, but in their spirit as well. We all have immense strength and when we know it and feel it, we can move mountains. In my classes, yogis can expect to work hard, be challenged, definitely sweat, and have fun, all with the goal of gaining more strength and flexibility, body, and mind.
How do you motivate your students?
Challenging people to keep going even when the practice is hard and the room is super hot. I always praise the good and give honest feedback. I have immense faith in people and their abilities to do things that sometimes they may not even know they can, yet! And they do!
